John Verzyl started collecting comic books in 1965, and within ten years he had amassed thousands of Golden
and Silver Age comic books. In 1979 he opened "Comic Heaven," a retail store devoted entirely to buying and selling comic
books.
Over the years, John Verzyl has come to be recognized as an authority in the feild of comic books. He
has served as a special advisor to the "Overstreet Price Guide" for the last twenty years. He has also served as a
special advisor in both editions of the "Overstreet Grading Guide for Comics." Thousands of his "Mint" comics were photographed
for Ernst Gerber's "Photo Journal Guide to Comic Books." For the last 25 years, his tables and huge displays at the
annual "San Diego Comic Convention" have drawn customers from all over the country!
The first annual Comic Heaven Auction was held in 1987, and today his Auction Catalogs are mailed out
to more than twelve thousand interested collectors and dealers.
